Description
Students love these engaging activities on the nervous system. Easy to follow and fun to use and teach with. You don’t have to add anything. This comprehensive Nervous System Activities 5E lesson plan aligns perfectly with the NGSS Middle School MS-LS1-8 standard “gather and synthesize information that sensory receptors respond to stimuli by sending messages to the brain for immediate behavior or storage as memories”.
❤️ “The ruler drop was a hit with the students- it was a fun challenge to see how fast their brain could send a message to their hand. At the same time, I enjoyed the fact that they were collecting data and graphing the results- a key skill for science. They also enjoyed the auditory section and visual section.” Andrea B.
❤️ “This is very thorough and well designed”. Jennifer Perry
❤️ “This is so easy to use and my kids loved it!” Pencils Books and Curls
❤️ “My students love the hands on stations”. Angela C.

Science Stations
- Visual Station – at this station the students will see various optical stimuli and answer questions in their student record sheets based on their observations.
- Auditory Station – at this station the students will go to a Youtube link to listen to auditory illusions and answer questions based on the clip.
- Reading Station – here the students will read a short account of how the brain sends and receives sensory messages and answer questions in their student record sheets.
- Identify Station – this station allows the students to explore and identify the functions of the various parts of the brain.
- Rapid Response Station – at this station the students will see how quickly they can respond to a stimulus. Their competitive spirit will show!
