Here are three hands-on labs where the students will demonstrate

• converging continental plates
• converging continental and oceanic plates
• converging oceanic plates

using Graham crackers and frosting. Full photo instructions as well as step-by-step student instructions are provided. It’s a great way to reinforce these concepts.

• ► Read It – at this station the students will read about Alfred Wegener and his discoveries relating to plate tectonics.

• ► Watch It – students watch a short video on weathering and answer questions on the video.

• ► Illustrate It – students illustrate their understanding of a weathering process in a cartoon format. Explanatory text is provided.
