Description
This comprehensive Middle School NGSS LAB is designed to align with the NGSS Middle School MS-LS1-5 standard “Construct a scientific explanation based on evidence for how environmental and genetic factors influence the growth of organisms”.
Complete instructions for both teacher and students are included as well as answer keys. There are 2 pages of pre-experiment questions that are designed to get them thinking. Just print and teach.
Materials Needed
- Cress or mustard seeds
- Containers (petri dishes are perfect but cress will grow anywhere e.g. egg cartons, plastic cups etc).
- Kitchen roll to act as a substrate
- A little soil (most of the cress will be grown on kitchen roll but it’s good to show them the difference soil can make)
- Water sprayer/mister
